What exactly does a Professional Organizer do?

  • Plan the project (we know where to start).
  • Motivate you to complete work (no half-finished projects).
  • Provide emotional support (we understand it's not just "stuff" to you).
  • Recommend resources (we know the right people for donations, hauling, painting, cleaning, etc.).
  • Be an Accountability Partner (we keep you on track – we know you need to get this done).

Will you MAKE me get rid of things?

No – a Professional Organizer won't force you. We will ask you direct questions about an item's usefulness and support you by suggesting places to donate or dispose of things.

How long does it take?

This is a common question – but first you have to answer the following three questions:

  • How fast can you make decisions?
  • How long has it been bugging you?
  • How much time do you waste working around the problem?

How much does it cost?

  • 4-hour session = $400
  • 8-hour pre-paid package = $720 (10% reduction)
  • 16-hour pre-paid package = $1,360 (15% reduction)

For jobs requiring extra hands, I will bring my assistant or recommend a specialist (auction house, hauler, cleaner, mover, handyman, etc.).

Do people just back-slide?

That depends on the cause. If it was situational (like moving) then it's very unlikely. If it was chronic (keeps happening to you) then it is a matter of learning new habits. We can check in with you to tweak the systems as we go. We can be your accountability partners as you work to change.
